Living in Texas, LOOKING FOR REGIONAL GATHERINGS!!

pretty self explanatory! Just looking forward to finding the next regional gathering to attend, just don't think i can wait until next july to be with the family again ;]. Does anyone happen to know where the next regional gathering that is nearest San Antonio is being held?? Could sure use a point in the right direction!

Well my dear,,, we dont have regionals in Tx. We dont even have potlucks in Austin, cuz the rich hippies dont like the poor hippies. I've told the kidz to make their own. Rainbow in Tx. especially Austin, are very private.Yr's ago the Rainbow house in Austin was abused every wich way.I personally was in that house a few times for a few minutes each time.The kitchen was clean, the food prep was good.But they got such a bad rap in the paper when it got closed,, it was a shame. I suggest goin to Kerrville Singer/Song writer Fest. and then theres Lil folk comin up soon, check the web site. Do your own thing with other family members in your community. Our young people are the future, become a focalizer. There are more of us in Tx. than anyone realizes!

Getting a gathering going just takes time and spirit energy. might be small, but its a place for people to go...call woodstock up in, austin texas. he has land..or b.l.m. land...call your blm mangement and find out or your national forest in your area, which is small. i know east texas is good. i got friends that got land there. i hope they call me cus i lost their number. if and when they do, i will pass it on.....just get one going, some where, some how. nothing is impossable. not even in mississippi..................

I live there, I can talk about it anyway I want. Other than Rainbows being private,,, our community in Austin is wonderful. Austin IS an oasis in the middle of enemy territory. We have a supportive loving community. Ludi, can ya use small casing, it is yelling to use caps. Thanks for understanding. Good luck to all,

Hey brother I know wants your going thru, I live in san antonio also and when you ask someone or talk to someone about rainbow they haven't a clue what your talking about. Man this town bites,thats why I'm getting out of here and going back on the road travel around and go to regionals till the next Nat's. I did see on this site about a regional in Nebraska in Sept. look in the events.

I was 19 when it got closed. I still have the news paper clippings. I am in touch with many from that era. Rainbow and other familys of the time. Please come to Lil Folk in Kerrville for labor day wked. This wked comin up is a work wked, get on staff, they feed ya and ya only have to work a small shift at whatever job ya sighn up for.Many of us will be there. Camping is free to staff as well as gettin into the mainstage area. So if ya play music and love to jam, we got it!

KerrvilleFolkFestival.com labor day wked. is only 3 days long. Memorial Day "Big Folk" is 18 days long. Times short as this wked is almost upon us. Go out early in the week, find out if they need any help. It's not that far from San Antonio or Austin for that matter.
